Global objective

The ISMF (Institutional and Sector Modernisation Facility) aims to contribute to the modernisation of the Syrian economy, which is essential to guarantee Syria a sustainable path and its successful incorporation within the Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Area.

The ISMF supports the Syrian administration in formulating and imprementing a comprehensive economic modernisation programme. It will achieve this by establishing a high-level discussion-forum on economy policy and strategy and by creating an atmosphere of change trough the upgrading of the administration capacities and of the services provided by the Syrian public sector, complementing the other ecomomic support and modernisation programmes financed by the EU.
